Anime heroes
Have you ever been watching a favorite show, bet it anime or a TV drama, and one of the characters(hero or otherwise) gets injured. Now the more sadistic fans would be cheering them on while hoping for more blood. Because the characters getting hurt makes the show more realistic, and less cliche. When a person gets hurt, we grieve for them, but we enjoy the challenge of overcoming the injury. But sometimes it seems the writers can't allow their precious characters to be injured, at least seriously. Take Bleach for example. Ichigo gets knocked around quite a bit, but when he is hurt Orihime is always nearby to make sure the injury never happened. So he deals with the injury for maybe two episodes at most. The most infuriating example of this seeming immortality is none other than Toshirou Hitsugaya. The guy never gets hurt! You dont even see him faint until way past episode 100 when he gets thrashed by an arrancar, but surprise surprise, five seconds later he is covered in bandages doing the classic hero silhouette into the sunset. It seems that shows these days are getting more and more predictable. Hero meets bad guy, finds that bad guy a butt wupping, gets wupped, finds righteous anger, righteous anger saves day, hero seems hurt, is healed, goes fights more bad guys. It's a vicious circle that we, even I, enjoy watching. But is anyone else wanting a little more in their shows? One reason I enjoyed DGray Man, was it had plenty of everything. Rmance, random humor, Drama, angst, action, it was all there. And when Allen was injured, you actually saw him have to work through his injury to become stronger. He didn't whine, and he didn't have some chick who could heal all his wounds and give him an instant remedy to make him stronger. You saw the sweat, you saw the pain, and you cheered with the victory. I'm not bashing Bleach, I am a hitsugaya fangirl to the core, I love Hiei from yu yu hakusho, bad boys with hight complexes and spikey hair make my heart go faster. BUT they still don't go through enough. They maintain their tough guy exterior, through the entire series. Sometimes Hiei allows little spurts of personality as his past comes to bite him in the butt, and Hitsugaya allows tiny moments of his true obnoxious nature to leak out. But those moments are few and far between. Want to know the reason why shows like Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Dgray man are popular? Because the main characters are not perfect. And we love watching their imperfection. Yusuke from yu yu hakusho is a typical punk only with powers, which makes the show hilarious. So to wrap up this rant, I'm looking forward to finding some unpredictable shows. Know any?

Girls and vid games
Stop me if you have heard this before. You are at a party, the girls are in another room talking about things that take little brainpower, and a smidgeon of insanity to actually have interest in. You get bored of said conversation, and go see what the boys are doing. You walk to the other room, and find the guys rocking out the latest and greatest, or a golden oldie vid game. And like any sensible sugar gamer, you want in on the action. They give you a look dripping with sarcasm, and disbelief, and ask if you can handle it. In this particular situation, you have one of two options. Laugh it off and say you don't know, but would like to try anyway(allowing them to continue living in the delusion of their macho-ness). OR you let your competitive streak rise, and challenge every man in the room to a cyber duel. Sound familiar? Or maybe it's just me who finds herself in these situations. Either way, be you majorly competitive, or the quiet type that just enjoys the gaming experiance, As sugar gamers we have all felt at one time the sting of male chauvanism. Guys who think that just because they were allowed to gow up playing with action figures vs barbie dolls, gives them the right to be the sole players of video games. I am not feminist. I dream of a world where men and women play together in harmony. But their are still the buttheads out their who think anything in a skirt can't play as good as they do. This is why this website exists. To encourage girls, that there are sugar gamers all over the world. And also provide us a chance to share stories of male beat downs. Anyone got any? If so, leave a comment, because those are the stories I know I enjoy! lol :)

Life as we know it
In this day and age it is hard for young ladies to get the respect they deserve. In this current culture, gilrs even at the age of twelve are told that in order to be pretty, they need to go for the sexy look. That, I assure you, is not the truth at all. Young girls, and older women alike, you are all beautful! The bible says your are fearfully, and wonderfully made! That means when God made you, He made you with respect, and care. The way you look is amazing already! Don't feel pressured to follow the models of this world, and the actresses. Beauty is not measured by size, weight, or color. Beauty is measured by your character. And heaven knows that we girl gamers are awesome enough as it is! So next time you look in the mirror, look at your reflection and tell all those doubts nagging in the back of your mind, that you are BEAUTIFUL! And no one can tell you different. You are unique, one of a kind, and the kind of girl that blesses the world, not takes away from it. You are amazing! When on a date, expect respect. And if he doesnt give you respect, than he doesnt deserve you. It is not normal, and it is not acceptable for a man to treat his girl any less than a queen. And you deserve a king, because you are a Queen. Respect yourself, and he will respect you! May your day be blessed.
